Roy Edward Gingrich was born February 3, 1920 in Ozark, Illinois. He was the 3rd child of parents who were farmers. In 1941, Roy received God's call to enter the Christian ministry. After intensive preparation, he was called to pastor churches in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Indianapolis, Indiana and Memphis, TN. He was pastor Faith Bible Church on Benjestown Road in Memphis, TN for over 40 years.  In 1963 he graduated magna cum laude from Crichton College (formally Midsouth Bible College) and soon thereafter, he joined the teaching staff.

In 1964, Dr. Gingrich began writing and self-publishing Bible commentaries. The Gingrich Bible Ministry has sold over 1,000,000 commentaries worldwide even though Dr. Gingrich has never marketed or promoted his books. These books have been sold to

Christian book stores, pastors, seminary students, Bible colleges and individuals. Dr. Gingrich's books are reaching Christians and non-Christians in places such as China, India, Africa and numerous other countries.

In 2001, Dr. Gingrich retired from a long and fruitful ministry and in 2003, was inducted into the Crichton College Hall of Fame. Although Dr. Gingrich passed into Heaven December 29, 2005, His book ministry continues on.

Dr. Gingrich was considered to be a leading Bible scholar. His lifestyle, integrity and Christian ministry was without blemish. His scholarship and character have stood the test of time!
